- AEEG is developing a 49 MWac utility scale solar PV and battery energy storage project in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

- The company is seeking an anchor industrial off-taker for a 10- or 20-year power purchase agreement offering long term price certainty and more dependable electricity supply.

Africa Earth Energy Group (AEEG) is developing the Middelburg Solar PV and BESS project, a 49 MWac utility scale renewable energy facility in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The company is now seeking an anchor industrial off-taker to support the project's commercial development.

The project is designed to help industrial businesses manage rising electricity costs and reduce exposure to supply uncertainty. Through a 10 or 20 year power purchase agreement, off-takers can secure long term price certainty while accessing electricity supported by battery energy storage.

AEEG said the facility will also enable participating businesses to make a measurable contribution to their decarbonisation goals. The company added that an anchor off-taker will have the opportunity to help shape the commercial partnership from the outset.

The project will be located in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, a region with significant industrial electricity demand. AEEG is inviting businesses seeking a long term renewable energy solution to begin discussions about the opportunity.
