The Vanadium Solar 1 project, a 150 MW solar PV power plant in Limpopo, is part of the 1.28 GW portfolio awarded to Infinity Power and Pele Green Energy in REIPPPP’s seventh round. The project is 51% owned by Infinity Power and 49% owned by Pele Green Energy and highlights their commitment to addressing South Africa’s energy challenges through sustainable power generation.
Vanadium Solar 1 will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and create local job opportunities as part of the overall development. Once completed, the project will play a role in Infinity Power’s commitment to renewable energy development across Africa, with a long-term goal of deploying 10 GW by 2030.
The project also aligns with the partnership’s focus on community investment, building on their history of deploying over $3 million in community support initiatives across South Africa, Senegal, and Egypt.
