Appian Capital Advisory LLP (Appian), an investment advisor specializing in private capital for metals, mining, and related industries, has announced the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Rosh Pinah Solar Park (RPSP) from Emesco Energy. The transaction is part of Appian’s broader clean energy strategy, aimed at integrating sustainable energy solutions into its portfolio.

The acquisition will ensure that the solar park exclusively supplies clean energy to Rosh Pinah Zinc Corporation’s mining operations in Namibia. This move aligns with Appian’s commitment to sustainability while supporting long-term operational efficiency at the mine. The deal further strengthens Appian’s role in the region’s renewable energy transition by optimizing the energy mix and reducing reliance on traditional power sources.

Rosh Pinah Zinc Corporation, the primary beneficiary of the solar power plant, will receive stable and predictable energy pricing through this strategic partnership. With Namibia’s significant solar energy potential, this acquisition supports both the mining sector and national energy security.

Michael W. Scherb, Founder and CEO of Appian, commented: “This is an important investment that will support Appian’s decarbonization ambitions and provide tangible cost benefits to Rosh Pinah Zinc, while offering attractive risk-adjusted returns to our investors. The project is another important step for Appian’s clean energy strategy following the development of our solar plant operations in Brazil. I look forward to working with our team to deliver on the opportunity this investment offers the business.”

The agreement is expected to enhance the sustainability profile of Rosh Pinah Zinc, ensuring long-term operational efficiency while positioning the company at the forefront of responsible mining practices.
